SOC 1 reports are examination engagements performed by an independent service auditor (CPA) in accordance with Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 18, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization. A Type 2 engagement examines the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of controls throughout a specified period, which for DDJ covers successive annual periods. As a result of this engagement, DDJ’s clients are able to gain additional insights regarding DDJ’s controls and the effectiveness of those controls, in addition to an independent assessment of whether the controls were placed in operation, suitably designed, and operating effectively.
